... again, you'll be able to vote on this in november.. and-- some high school students are developing their green thumbs. islands high school sowed its first garden thanks to islands high school sowed its first garden thanks to the team from burpee home gardens winning the "i can grow" youth garden award. they beat out more than 500 schools across the nation to win this honor. the garden will have many different vegetables -- herbs and flower -- promoting student teamwork and nutrition. the islands high school had an excellent application. they had enthusiasm from the kids, they sent in a great video. their teacher, mr. ledford, has a great horticultural program. it's sustainable, it's something they can grow into and build a lot of excitement around horticulture. the agriculture students will be responsible for maintaining their award winning garden. in addition - the school will receive 25-hundred in garden supplies and on-site assistance from burpee home garden's experts. ...
